Algorithmic Trap is a beat generator free for everyone to use. All the beats you hear on this site are generated by a computer.

Many sites claim to offer "free beats" when in reality they are far from free. Check out this article at DIYMusician for more information. Our aim is to provide our users with genuinely free exclusive beats. That means no license is required for monetizing the beats. We do not watermark or tag any beats and they are not copyright protected. You can therefore use them for your song, video, game or whatever purpose you see fit, without having to worry about licensing, crediting or even talking to us.

Is it possible to get MIDI and/or stems (trackouts) for a beat?

Short answer: We are working on it.
Long answer: It is possible to have our generator make MIDI and stems for a beat but we have not decided on how to deliver these files to our users. We will announce on social media when Algorithmic Trap is able to deliver MIDI and stems.

How does it work?

Algorithmic Trap is a program written in Supercollider. The program uses algorithmic composition techniques to generate the beats and it is a knowledge-based system consisting of about 10,000 lines of code. The generator does not use any type of AI nor does it use samples of any sort to create the beats. In the future we are hoping to be able to go into further details through video tutorials.
